Analysis Communication’s Business Analyst (Duncan Cheshire) spend 14 months on secondment as a Test Analysit to Vangent Ltd (previously part of Persons Government Solutions):

• Project: Telecommunications order handling system for a business-to-business (B2B) interface with British Telecom’s XML gateway (Openreach).  Wholesale line rental (WLR2 & WLR3) and carrier pre-select (CPS) systems.  Development of a new product for integration with BT’s WLR3 system, using Agile/Scrum development method.
• Technology: Web Client developed with .NET, Biz-Talk server and orchestration, SQL Server database.  XML & CSV Messaging.
• Role: System testing and Test CoordinatorTasks included:
  • Produce test conditions and scripts from use-case specification documentation.
  • Production of test data, SQL & Excel spreadsheet.
  • Execution of test scenarios/scripts.
  • Defect logging/monitoring/retesting (using OnTime).
  • Following outsourcing of the systems test team, Duncan was the main point of contact for the test team and test manager (in Argentina) and for liaison between the outsourced testers and the development team.
  • Test progress reporting to the project manager.
  • Initial Testing (sanity check) of new functionality before handing over to the Argentina team for full system testing.

System integration testing between Vangent and OpenReach systems.
